Music Teacher (Grades PreK-5)

Position Summary: 

St. Egbert Catholic School is seeking a Music Teacher for Grades PreK-5. This individual should have a strong understanding of the role of music in Catholic liturgy, be dedicated to best practices in teaching and learning, and be a passionate educator who upholds the school's mission through music instruction.

Key responsibilities:

• Integrate values and attitudes that guide students in evaluating and applying content in the light of Gospel teachings.
• Effectively implement a grade-level appropriate curriculum and demonstrate mastery of subject-area content
• Adhere to the standards and objectives from the Diocese of Raleigh curricula and design rigorous instructional plans that include higher order thinking skills and acquisition of deeper content knowledge.
• Exhibit a strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement and maintain high expectations for student learning
• Cultivate ongoing communication and positive relationships with parents, students, and colleagues.
• Contribute to a positive Catholic school culture driven by continuous professional and spiritual growth, striving for academic excellence.
• Collaborate with musicians and church staff with regard to music for school liturgy.
• Supervision and other duties as assigned by administration

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education with a concentration in music
• 3 or more years of teaching experience
• Hold a current K-6 North Carolina Teaching License or equivalent out-of-state license.
• Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks 
• Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
