Position Summary:

St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church is seeking a Coordinator of Payroll to serve as full-time support in the finance office. This position coordinates Human Resources, posting job openings, receiving resumes from applicants, processing new hiring forms for new employees, processing employee changes and terminations, as well as processing contracts for teachers and offer letters for new employees. The Coordinator of Payroll will manage payroll, post payroll entries in General Ledger and billing, as well as assisting with automated giving and acting as assistant to the Director of Finance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Payroll/Human Resources:
    • Maintains employee records.
    • Process payroll through UKG/UltiPro.
    • Process all Payroll entries to Realm Accounting and billing.
    • Tracks vacation and sick leave of staff.
    • Sends communications regarding payroll/Human Resources to staff.
    • Post job openings, receive all the resumes from applicants and distribute them to the appropriate head of department.
    • Distributes new hire packets.
    • Process all employees’ HR paperwork, new hires, status changes, terminations and send them to the RH office at the Diocese.
    • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding.
    • Frontline coordination (Office of Education): Processing all New Hires, Status Change, and Termination forms. 
    • Process Teacher Contracts and Offer Letter for the schools in Frontline.
    • Manages the Employee Ledger for the OOE.
    • Work with Human Resource office at the Diocese regarding benefits for schools and church office staff.
    • Process Teacher Contract Addendums and Letters for School employees who receive stipends for Sport Coaching or for leading Clubs during the school year. 
    • Other Duties as assigned.
  • Other Duties and responsibilities
    • Assist Director of Finance with Special Projects
    • Collaborates with Parish and Schools Personnel Budgets
    • Maintains the Special Collection calendar.
    • Assist Count Team
    • Oversee monthly staff Birthday gifts and cards as well as Christmas gifts.
    • Assist with online giving and auto draft.
    • Account administration: Banking, WeShare, Christian Brothers, I-9, Realm, various accounts.
    • Other Duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4-year College Degree.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft.
  • Knowledge of Payroll
  • Very detail oriented.
  • A practicing Catholic with thorough knowledge of the Catholic faith and ability to communicate it in both word and action preferred.
  • Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
  • Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Realm software, and FACTS/SIS software.
  • Knowledge of UKG/UltiPro
  • Ability to create a culture of diversity, inclusiveness, collaboration and teamwork
  • At least 3-5 years of financial and payroll experience
