On Saturday, October 12, more than 1,000 people from across eastern NC attended the annual diocesan Hispanic Heritage Mass and celebration. Bishop Luis Zarama presided over the Mass. Sister Madre, a sister from the Hermanas Misioneras del Rosario de Fátima who is based at St. Michael the Archangel in Cary, gave a Hispanic heritage reflection during the celebration.

Following Mass, the faithful gathered in the Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral parish center to enjoy traditional dancing, games and crafts for children, including rosary making. Attendees also enjoyed a large variety of Hispanic food and drink including empanadas, popusas and agua frsescas.
