When did you first consider a vocation to the permanent diaconate?

Some years after moving to the U.S., I had the opportunity to start interacting with a senior deacon, and it didn't take too long to really appreciate what he was doing helping people to get closer to God. Soon after that I felt a strong call to continue his service.

What is your favorite part of being a deacon?

The pastoral work, serving people , evangelizing. 

What would you say to someone considering the permanent diaconate?

Don't be afraid - Jesus is the one calling you and will help through your formation and service.

What is the most joyful revelation you’ve had about the diaconate since your ordination?

Comforting people going through troubling times, questions about their faith.

Who is your favorite saint and why?

St. John Vianney is an example of perseverance, overcoming difficulties and humility.
